about RKhive

I began RKhive's collection in 1994, after some anonymous musician on CompuServe tipped me off to the fact that my AWE-32 soundcard was, in fact, a pretty powerful sampler. I've kept this archive up and running since 1995, when it was called El gran archivo del SBK. But it's moved plenty of times since then:

1995keiichi.res.cmu.edu/foxgieg
1996barroom.visionsystems.com/foxgieg
1997www.visionsystems.com/foxgieg
1999www.rkhive.com

And now it's found a permanent home. With Creative Labs' continuing support for the format, and built-in SoundFont capability added to OS X, these little guys just might end up avoiding obsolescence for another decade...
