I've always been interested in the Gnostic Gospels, with their unusual twists on familiar stories. This short is a little riff on the character of Enoch, a contemporary of the Biblical Noah.

Enoch receives a premonition of disaster, so he sets out to collect as many books as he can find, to preserve the knowledge of the world. But his premonition is less than complete--he doesn't know that the disaster will be a Flood; he doesn't know what form the destruction will take. And so, lacking reliable divine guidance, all his careful preparations come down to a straight-ahead, all-or-nothing gamble....

Premiered on CBC TV, 2005.
