Out of Me and Into You where:   CalArts, Los Angeles when:   18 - 19 Apr 2003 director:   Lauren Hartman tools:   AfterEffects, Director, FrameThief, Final Cut Lauren Hartman adapted this story from the Yiddish folktale "The Dybbuk," about a woman possessed by the ghost of a jealous lover on the eve of her wedding to another man. The animation combines calligraphy by Gil Omry, Super8 footage by Hartman, and my drawn animation in a Lingo script that randomly mixes the elements together. The finished product was played back in slow motion and re-photographed off the computer monitor, using a video camera set to a slow shutter speed.
